SDG12

UniCycle is our innovative response to Sustainable Development Goal 12, embodying the call for sustainable consumption and production patterns. This app is a platform specifically for students to buy and sell second-hand items, a direct counter to the throwaway culture and a promoter of resourceful living. By extending the usable life of products, UniCycle conserves resources and reduces waste, illustrating a commitment to environmental sustainability. It also fosters a community-oriented marketplace that not only encourages social sustainability through shared values of reuse and eco-friendliness but also stimulates an economical sustainability by enabling students to save and earn money. Supported by engaging posters and a compelling promotional video, UniCycle does more than just talk about sustainability—it actively engages users in it. These artifacts work synergistically to demonstrate the app’s role in a sustainable future, making SDG 12’s objectives relatable and actionable within the student demographic. UniCycle is thus a tool for change, transforming how students interact with their belongings and with each other, cultivating a greener, more considerate consumer culture on campus and beyond.
