SDG14
Our series of artefacts is designed to captivate a younger audience, starting with an introduction to SDG14 through engaging educational content. We then enhance interaction to deepen their connection with SDG14, inspiring them to act towards ocean conservation related to this crucial goal.
We start with a podcast that reveals sustainable fisheries and their impact, featuring the issue of trawling in IUU fishing as a case study. Specifically, we explore how Iceland’s ban on trawling has led to the sustainable development of its fisheries.
Furthermore, our campaign broadens its scope by exploring a wide range of global examples in sustainable fisheries and marine development aimed at educating young people about SDG14. We have also introduced offline time capsule events to deepen their engagement and promote a more vital interaction and connection with SDG14.
Next, our Artistic Physical Object initiative tackles the issue of ghost fishing gear—waste from fisheries development—by transforming discarded fishing nets into volleyball nets. This project highlights innovative sustainable marine development and aims to inspire a broader movement towards the recycling and reuse of seafloor waste.
